Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu has publicly revealed her painful battle with cancer, calling on Nigerians for urgent support.
In a deeply emotional video that has gone viral, the rising actress broke down in tears as she detailed her health struggles and appealed for financial assistance.
Diagnosed in 2023, Anijekwu underwent surgery and chemotherapy. While she initially hoped for recovery, the cancer returned more aggressively and has now spread to her bones.

“I spend 600 and something thousand naira a month now. And it’s not an easy thing,” she said, visibly distressed. “The doctor said that it has reached my bone. The treatment now is higher.” She explained that she requires radiation and further surgery, burdens her family can no longer bear.
Fighting back tears, she pleaded: “Please, I need to live. I need to survive. I’m asking Nigerians to please help me. Anyone that can help… Your one Naira, your two Naira can add up to something reasonable for me to take the proper treatment.”
Popular colleague Destiny Etiko amplified the message by sharing the video, noting that Anijekwu’s condition is now critical. Etiko wrote: “Please find it in your heart to offer her help. Nothing is too small.”
