Media personality, Toke Makinwa, has shared a message to women who are yet to marry or have children.
eelive.ng reports that in August the former OAP welcomed her first child, a baby girl, at 40. She named her daughter Yakira Eliana and described the birth as the happiest moment of her life.
Taking to her Instagram page, Toke posted screenshots of messages she got from online trolls. She said she hardly responds to negativity but pointed out that no matter how successful a woman is, society still mocks her for the things she has not achieved.

According to her, marriage has now become a standard of fulfilment and if a woman doesn’t have a child, she faces another round of trolling.
Toke, however, expressed gratitude to God for helping her wait for the right time. She admitted that people’s words hurt her but did not break her spirit. She explained that during her pregnancy she kept away from the public, choosing to focus on her journey and her faith.
In her words, “I’m not one to acknowledge negativity. I’ve built a strong brand off the stones thrown at me over the years. One thing about God, he loves the people you judge so much. I’m sharing this for anyone facing delay, shame, or tough times. Society wants you to believe you have expired, but you are wrong.”
The media star said she is thankful she did not settle but waited for God’s timing, which she described as perfect.
She advised women not to allow negativity weigh them down but instead focus on God and celebrate themselves at every stage of life.
“Do not underestimate the power of negativity. I hid throughout my pregnancy out of fear, but God reminded me that perfect love drives out fear. The words hurt but they only reminded God of me. My advice is simple: drown out the noise, focus on God, let him do the heavy lifting, and celebrate yourself. Congratulations.”
