I lost endorsement deal due to false rumours of misogyny – Nedu
Nigerian on-air personality, Nedu, opens up about losing an endorsement deal amidst false allegations of misogyny.
During The Honest Bunch podcast, he shared the incident and expressed his disbelief at the untrue rumors.
Emotionally unaffected, Nedu revealed that the deal fell through due to the narrative that he hates women.
Nedu explained, “A lot of people were flying with the narrative, ‘Nedu hates women.’ And it’s a beverage brand. The brand said, ‘If this is what people are saying, it means it is not going to go well with our female audience.'”
In light of the false allegations, the beverage company, prioritizing its brand image and female consumer base, retracted the endorsement.
Nedu clarified his stance, affirming his lack of animosity towards women and highlighting the irony of the situation.
Despite his comedic skits showcasing admiration for women, he continues to face accusations of being a woman hater.
