
Tems, a Nigerian recording artiste whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, has explained that being curvy is what she loves most about being born a black woman.
Tems disclosed this in a recent conversation with Cocoa Butter in Atlanta, Georgia.
“My favourite thing about being a black woman? I love being curvy. I love that I have a little booty, you know what I’m saying?” she expressed.

The Oscar-nominated diva also spoke about her fashion influences and choices.
“I’m definitely into details. I’m definitely into the bling. I think Nigerians are very extravagant in everything and I’m very into that. But I always put my own spin and I’m not afraid to be who I am,” Tems added.

Tems gained prominence after she was featured on Wizkid’s 2020 global hit, ‘Essence,’ which peaked at No.9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In 2022, she became the first African artist to debut N0.1 on the Billboard HOT 100 chart, through Future’s song, ‘Wait 4 U,’ which featured her and Drake. The song also won a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap the following year.
This year, Tems won another Grammy for her song, ‘Love Me Jeje’, for Best African Music Performance.
