Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar Ayra Starr has reassured her fans following a major surgery, sharing an honest update about her recovery.
In a heartfelt message posted on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, the 24-year-old singer explained her recent absence. “I’m sorry you’re not seeing as much of me as I would like,” she wrote.
“I had major surgery a few days ago. I was hoping it would be a quick recovery, but it was more complicated than they expected. I just need a bit of rest, and I’ll be back.”

Ayra Starr continued with optimism, adding that she is focusing on healing while keeping her eyes on the future. She also highlighted her upcoming project, telling fans, “Starr girl is coming so soon,” and urged them to keep supporting the album by spreading the word and pre-ordering.

Her third studio album, Starr Girl, remains on track for release on August 14, 2026.
