I Never Knew I’ll Be A Musician – Bez Idakula

Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and composer, Bez Idakula or Bez features on the new episode of Ndani TV’s show, “The Mix”. The talented singer reveals everything from being inspired by Fela Anikulapo-Kuti’s music, to his whole creative process and his inspiration for his latest album, titled “The Light”.

On what drew him into music, Bez shared; “I never knew I’ll be a musician. I started from a very young age, my dad taught me to play the guitar and I took that passion head-on and used it to create all types of sound. Eventually I found out I could monetize this after finding out music was my purpose. So I would say what drew me into music was passion and chasing purpose.”

On his biggest musical inspiration, the artiste commented; “The first person that inspired me was Fela because he took the normal instruments everybody used and crates a different sound, Afrobeats, and I think that is genius. Other people that I am inspired by would be Cold Play; they have an amazing stage presence, amazing life and they’re amazing song writers, and when you see their stadium shows you’ll see that they’re a big deal. Another thing that inspires me about them is that they keep themselves grounded, which is something I really admire.”
