
Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage has opened up about her initial struggles to bond with her son, Jamil Balogun.
The singer, known for her poise and “Queen of Afrobeats” persona, during a recent interview shared that the early stages of her journey into motherhood were clouded by an unexpected emotional hurdle: gender disappointment.
Speaking candidly about the moment she learned she was expecting a boy, Tiwa Savage admitted that the news was met with tears rather than immediate joy. “Honestly, I didn’t bond with my son for the first year or two,
“I always wanted a girl. They told me it was a boy, and I started crying,” she said.
Despite the difficult start, time and patience transformed their relationship. Reflecting on their current bond, Tiwa Savage expressed a complete shift in perspective, stating, “But now, that’s my best friend.” She concluded.
