Popular Nigerian singer and street-hop artiste Mr Real, whose real name is Adekunle Olamide best known for his 2017 breakout hit “Legbegbe,” has voiced deep frustration over the country’s escalating challenges, revealing that the daily bombardment of negative news has left him reluctant to release new music.

“I wake up to terrible news everyday. I’m even scared to drop songs cause of the terrible things happening in Nigeria; how do artistes do it? This country is bvrning. People has turned insecurity to business and we still go to club,” he said in the emotional video.

The singer highlighted insecurity as a major concern, accusing some individuals of turning it into a profit-driven enterprise while many Nigerians continue with routine activities like clubbing amid widespread suffering.

He praised colleagues who manage to release music despite the grim atmosphere, admitting he struggles to find the mental space for creative work under current conditions.

“I am even scared to drop songs because of the terrible things happening in Nigeria. Artists who are releasing songs are trying because I don’t know the kind of mind they have,” Mr Real added.

The remarks come at a time when Nigeria continues to grapple with persistent insecurity, economic pressures, kidnappings, banditry, and other crises that dominate headlines.
