BBNaija Season 7 winner Phyna Otabor has stirred online reactions with her assertion that she was not the aggressor in a viral video showing her involved in a physical altercation at an Abuja hotel.
Contrary to reports suggesting she was beaten over a N200,000 dispute, Phyna claims she actually defeated her opponent, who is now hospitalized.
In a statement, Phyna expressed amusement at the circulating narrative, saying, “Who I beat dey hospital, dem carry touts come fight and people to record. I was attacked from behind on my way out—dem even crop the video just to twist story say dem beat me.” She added humorously, “😂 Make una rest! The girl wey I beat never even regain consciousness. Una dey mad! Pray for me make who I beat no die abeg”.

Phyna alleged the altercation is birth from theft, stating, “make person just dey thief me dey thief me because say I know you. You dey thief me continuously. If them catch you, you go dey charge say i tag you thief.” She implied the other party orchestrated the confrontation and brought in outsiders to video the incident.
The viral video had alleged that Phyna was involved in a fight over N200,000, with various reports indicating a physical confrontation at the hotel. However, Phyna’s account flips the narrative, claiming self-defense and asserting she was the victor in the altercation.
The altercation comes amid Phyna’s recent personal challenges, including the tragic loss of her sister Ruth Otabor, who died following a road accident involving a Dangote truck.
