Former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Anna Banner shares how she suffered from depression and wanted to opt out of life sometimes. The model shared this on her Instagram stories on February 1.
According to the beauty queen, for years, she has had to put up appearances and pretend to be happy when she was not. And appearances can be deceiving because despite being literally called the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, Anna says she was ashamed of her body.
She says she lost self-confidence and felt insecure about being a single mother. But that’s all over now. This year, Anna says she is going to remind herself of all her achievements, instead of feeling down.

Born in 1995, Banner rose to prominence after she won the Most Beautiful Girl title in Nigeria in 2012. Upon her reign as Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2012; the then Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Dickson appointed her the Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism.
At 20, she welcomed a baby girl with musician Flavour. After having her baby, Anna went back to school in Ghana and is now a graduate.
