
Fast-rising Nigerian artiste, FOLA, has opened up about his first meeting with Afrobeats superstar, Wizkid, revealing how his initial fears were quickly replaced with admiration.
FOLA disclosed that he had felt anxious prior to the encounter due to widespread perceptions about Wizkid’s personality. According to FOLA, he had often heard people describe Wizkid as proud, which contributed to his nervousness ahead of their meeting.

However, his experience turned out to be the complete opposite. FOLA revealed that Wizkid was not only approachable but also highly supportive, offering words of encouragement that left a lasting impression on him.

“I was nervous about meeting Wizkid for the first time because everyone kept saying he’s proud. But I was pleasantly surprised when he said, ‘Your music dey burst my head.’ He was so warm and welcoming, and made me feel completely at ease,” he said.

Wizkid, widely regarded as one of the leading figures in the global Afrobeats movement, has consistently influenced a new generation of artistes.
