Nigerian TikTok star Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, has laughed off the platform’s new nationwide ban on late-night live streaming, boasting that his multi-million-naira brand endorsements will keep him far from financial distress.

In a viral video posted Sunday evening, the 20-year-old fast-rising streamer said: “Some people are saying Peller will suffer now, Peller will go hungry… No! Any brand I’m holding right now is not less than 40 million naira. Calm down, I’m good.”

The Chinese-owned social media platform had imposed the restriction on Saturday, blocking all live streams in Nigeria between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., noting that the nighttime curfew is part of an “ongoing safety investigation” triggered by a sharp rise in violations during late hours.

According to a transparency report by the app, more than 49,000 Nigerian live sessions were removed between April and June 2025 for content involving nudity, sexual activity, stressing that the majority of these offending broadcasts occurred after midnight, when underage users are more likely to be online unsupervised.
