I’m the highest-paid artist in the History of African music- Burna Boy

Award winning singer, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, says he is the highest-paid artist in the History of African music.

The singer stated this through his Twitter Handle on Saturday.

Also, Burna Boy stated that despite this, money does not give him satisfaction.

He stated “I said money doesn’t satisfy me, and it’s my truth; but it doesn’t change the fact that I’m the highest-paid artist in the History of African music. Believe it or not.”

Burna Boy had earlier announced he would not going to be performing at the AfroNation 2022 in Puerto Rico due to circumstances beyond his control.

He wrote “I’m extremely gutted that I won’t be at the AfroNation in Puerto Rico, due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control. I will make it up to you all for sure! Love, Damini.

Burna Boy was to perform alongside a litany of Nigerian stars such as Wizkid, Wande Coal, Ckay, among others.

The AfroNation Festival, which celebrates African music with the afrobeats genre as a preference; returns after two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Burna Boy won the 2021 Grammy award for Best Global Music Album for his album, Twice As Tall.

Other albums by Burna Boy include ‘L.I.F.E.’, ‘On A Spaceship’, ‘Outside’, African Giant.

Also, Burna Boy featured on Justin Bieber album, titled Justice. It’s a 16-track collection of pop songs with assists from Chance the Rapper, Khalid, Daniel Caesar, Giveon, and more. Burna Boy appeared on track 14 of the project titled Loved By You.

In September 2021, Burna Boy said fans should not expect another album from him till further notice.
