Internet Fraud is Like Committing Murder – DJ Jimmy Jatt

DJ Jimmy Jatt, is the latest celebrity to join the conversation about internet fraud on social media.

Jimmy Jatt joined the ongoing conversation by rebuking artistes encouraging cyber-crime, stating that they lack home training and good education. In a ‘Hangout with Jimmy Jatt and other Celebrities’ event in Lagos, the foremost disc jockey commented on how many artistes want to get rich at all cost, paying no mind to their names or the fact that God’s time is the best.

“I am the proprietor of old and new DJs in Nigeria and I have worked hard to protect my name. I am not fraudulent and I will never encourage anyone to be involved in criminal activities,” he said.

“I have travelled to six continents of the world. Internet fraud is like a committing murder without the use of gun or ammunition. This is because when you dupe someone, the person you dupe may end up committing suicide or go into depression or mental disorder,” Jatt continued.

Speaking on his humble beginnings and the process of rising to the top, DJ Jimmy Jatt said; “I started my career as a DJ from Obalende several decades ago at a time when parents don’t want their children to be DJs. I was rejected but today I am accepted and even honoured today by those who rejected me. We want to help young people stay in school and supported so they can live a fulfilled life.”

The conversation sparked off after Simi called out yahoo boys, and Naira Marley who was arrested by the EFCC last weekend used his platform to support internet fraudsters.
