Ireti Doyle Expresses Displeasure over Actors’ Treatment

Nollywood star, Ireti Doyle is unhappy with Nollywood movie producers over their treatment of actors.

Doyle revealed that she has been forced to stay up till 4am on movie sets even though she has indicated to producers that she will not shoot movies at night. The actor who is reportedly on the set of a Faith Ojo production, Kasanova , noted that although there might be some situations that cause actors to put their comfort aside to make sure the work is done, she is annoyed by the knowledge that producers refuse to acknowledge these extra efforts when offering compensations to the actors they prefer to hire.

In a message to producers which she posted on her Instagram page, she advised that they stop pricing talents like market commodities. She wrote: “Its 4.10am…I have stated categorically that I will not be shooting late into the night; it’s even captured in the contract”. However there are times in a production where they begin to run out of things – time, money, or, like in this instance, there are conditions attached to using a certain location. So you bend, accommodate, sacrifice and dig deep into reserves you don’t even know you have and continue to give a stellar performance take after take while still maintaining a positive attitude. Dear Sir/Madam Producer, when in negotiations and we begin to price talent like crayfish in the market it is nights like these we need to bear in mind.”
