Rita Edochie, the veteran Nollywood actress has thrown her support behind May Yul Edochie following negative comments from critics who mocked the recent launch of her business in London.
May Edochie, who is the estranged wife of popular actor Yul Edochie, recently held a celebrity launch party for her business at the Hilton Kensington Hotel in London. The event, according to reports, recorded massive attendance and was seen as a big success.
However, shortly after the event, some social media users began to make negative remarks, claiming the launch looked “cheap” and was not up to standard.

Reacting to the criticism, Rita Edochie took to her Instagram page to defend May.
She described those mocking the event as “small-minded individuals” and questioned their understanding of what it takes to organize such a gathering in London.
“Some people are busy running their mouths, saying the event was cheap,” she said. “I just laugh. Is it easy to rent a hall in the middle of London? Do you even know how much pounds went into that event?”
She praised May Edochie for pulling off such a well-attended event in a busy and expensive city like London. According to her, it takes God’s grace and hard work to gather such a large crowd outside Nigeria.
“See my celebrity daughter now. Who dey check am? She is full of grace. That’s why God is lifting her up,” she added.
Rita also revealed that the next stop for May is Manchester, and she’s confident it will be another hit. She jokingly said that the team would continue to make waves across the UK until people start asking questions about what’s going on.
“Congratulations, my daughter. We are moving to Manchester now. Another banger is coming. We go scatter UK till their government begins to ask ‘O gini na afio?’ And we’ll tell them the Queen of grace and elegance has arrived.”
She ended her message with prayers, wishing May more success and urging her to keep shining despite the criticism.
“Keep moving forward, Queen May. You will continue to excel. God is with you. Greater things are coming,” she wrote.
