American YouTube star and livestreamer iShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., has continued to make headlines across the continent following his wide-ranging Africa tour, which he began earlier in the year with the aim of showcasing everyday life, culture and talent beyond the usual social-media spotlight.

eelive.ng reported that during his stop in Nigeria, the energetic creator linked up with several well-known local personalities while also interacting extensively with ordinary residents in different communities.

Let’s look at the lists of Nigerian content creators, IShowSpeed collaborated with, and some African countries he visited:

Nigeria:

In Nigeria, iShowSpeed collaborated with singer Zlatan, popular streamer Shanks Comics and viral performer Jarvis, known for her “human android” persona.

However Peller also attempted to work with him, but the collaboration did not materialise. Beyond meeting creators, he spent time with locals and highlighted music, street life and cultural displays.

South Africa:

While in South Africa, the streamer reiterated that the purpose of his journey was to present what he described as the “real Africa”, focusing on daily experiences rather than influencer-driven activities.

Zambia:

In Zambia, iShowSpeed drew attention after plunging into Devil’s Pool at Victoria Falls and meeting respected hip-hop artiste Slapdee, moments that quickly circulated online.

Ethiopia:

His Ethiopian visit saw him learning the traditional Eskista dance, a cultural experience that delighted viewers watching his livestreams.

Angola:

In Angola, he rounded off activities by playing football with around 100 children, further underlining the community-focused tone of his trip.

Collectively, the tour has reinforced iShowSpeed’s attempt to spotlight African cultures across borders, while blending entertainment with exploration and grassroots interaction.
