Nigerian actor and filmmaker Ibrahim Yekini, popularly known as Itele d’Icon, has achieved a landmark milestone as his movie series Koleoso crossed 141.6 million combined views on YouTube across 13 parts, making it the most-viewed African movie title on the platform.
The Yoruba-language fantasy-thriller follows a hardened patriarch, Osogbemi, who raises his three children—including the title character Koleoso—under the firm belief that charms and mystical powers are the true source of strength and dominance.

With a blend of rich Yoruba cultural elements with supernatural themes, intense family drama, power struggles, and rivalries, the series has captivated audiences since its debut in May 2025 on the IteleDIconStudio YouTube channel.

Earlier in 2026, Koleoso became the first Nollywood and African movie title to surpass 100 million cumulative views as a single story. The latest figures confirm its continued dominance, drawing viewers from Nigeria and the diaspora.
Itele dedicated the achievement to his fans, cast, and crew, describing it as a collective victory for Nollywood and African storytelling. “This is our win,” he said. “We dreamed it. We created it. You watched it. Together, we made history.”
The record highlights the growing global reach of Yoruba cinema and the power of consistent, culturally rooted content on digital platforms.
