Celebrity fashion designer Victoria James, A.K.A Veekee James has explained why she does not charge below ₦1 million to make a dress for a customer, insisting that the price reflects the value, experience and investment behind her brand.
Speaking about the cost of her services, the 31-year-old designer made it clear that her pricing is not arbitrary.
According to her, she has invested significantly in building her business and believes customers receive considerable value when they wear her designs.
She said: “I don’t charge below ₦1 million to sew a dress for a customer because I’ve invested so much in my business. Do you know the value you get when you wear my clothes?”
However for Veekee James, the price of a dress appears to represent more than simply sewing fabric together.

Her brand has spent years establishing a distinct identity in the competitive Nigerian fashion industry, with her designs frequently attracting attention at major events and celebrity weddings.
Away from her successful career, 2026 has also been a memorable year for the designer personally. Veekee James and her husband, Femi Atere, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Eliana Adeife Atere, on 2 May 2026.
The couple announced the arrival of their daughter later that month, describing her birth as an answered prayer.
Veekee James and Femi Atere got married in February 2024 after their engagement in late 2023.
