Celebrity fashion designer Veekee James has shared an emotional account of the sacrifices her mother made while raising her children following the death of her father.
Speaking in a recent interview, Veekee revealed that her mother chose not to remarry after losing her husband, dedicating herself entirely to caring for her children.
She recalled that when their pastor asked her mother if she wanted to find love again, her response was that her priority was to raise her children.

She said: “I’ve never seen my mom date any man before. Since I lost my dad, my mom has never slept out of the house if it’s not night vigil. When my dad passed, my pastor asked if she wanted to remarry, and she said no. She wanted to take care of us, her kids.”
Veekee also spoke about how hard her mother worked to provide for the family, revealing that she took on tailoring jobs in Ajegunle and made clothes for many people.

Beyond providing for them financially, her mother also taught her the tailoring skills that eventually became the foundation of her career.
She added:”My mom hustled so hard in Ajegunle. She made clothes for so many people. She taught me tailoring and advised me not to follow men.”
The fashion entrepreneur credited her mother’s strength, discipline, and sacrifices for shaping the person she has become.
However, she said the lessons and values her mother instilled in her continue to influence both her personal life and her successful career in fashion.
