Aquaman, Jason Momoa Exits Beard Gang for the Environment
Our fave superhero, Aquaman and Khal Droogo, Jason Momoa stripped himself of his beards to promote an environmental cause. Momoa said it was the first time in seven years that he would be shaving his beards and he did it to bring awareness to the volume of plastic killing the planet.
In a video titled “Goodbye Drogo… I SHAVED” posted on video-sharing platform, YouTube, the 39-year-old actor walked through a huge pile of plastic items and suggested that alternatives to plastic like aluminium should be explored to replace the earth-killing plastic.
“When it can be an aluminum one. They have aluminum sodas and it’s fully recyclable. I hate going to the airport or being on an airplane and getting a water bottle this big (holding his fingers apart with a small distance)” he said.
“Aquaman is trying to do the best he can — for my kids, for your kids, for the world. Clean up the oceans, clean up the land. I love you guys.
He also took to his Instagram @prideofgypsies to spread his message and promote the video.
He wrote “I’m SHAVING this beast off, It’s time to make a change. A change for the better…for my kids, your kids, the world. Let’s make a positive change for the health of our planet. Let’s clean up our oceans our land. Join me on this journey. Let’s make the switch to infinitely recyclable aluminium.”
