Jay z and Beyoncé’s New Orleans home set on fire

A fire appears to have broken out at the New Orleans home belonging to music power couple, Beyoncé and Jay Z.

According to TMZ, the fire incident occurred on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Firefighters were called in to the mansion to contain the fire.

It took around Twenty-two firefighters to get the fire under control, containing it just after 8 p.m. No injuries were reported. However, the mansion’s interior was damaged.

TMZ also reports that the officers initially responded to the scene following a call about a suspicious person. The incident is now being treated as a deliberate attempt to commit arson.

“If they didn’t get there when they did, it could have been much worse,” a spokesperson for the department told the New York Post.

According to the Fire Department, no one was in the home at the time of the incident .

The house was reportedly built in 1925 as a Presbyterian church before it was re-purposed as a ballet school. The 3-story house features a main residence, 3 separate apartments, 26-foot ceilings and a green roof.

Earlier this year, reports circulated that storage units owned by Beyoncé’s production company, Parkwood Entertainment in Los Angeles had been raided by burglars who made off with an estimated $1 million in goods.
