Jaywon, however, pleaded guilty to the charge against him, after which he was fined for the sum of N10,000 with 30 minutes of community service.

Speaking on Jaywon’s conviction, Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bala Elkana, said the singer was among the 179 persons arrested for violating the curfew and refusing to use face masks in the state.

Meanwhile, Jaywon isn’t the first celebrity to face the wrath of the law in Lagos as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration has been committed to punishing law offenders.

Recently, Nollywood star actress, Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz, were sentenced to two weeks of community service for hosting industry friends and family members for a birthday house party.

Do you think the state government has been fair in its approach to ensure everyone complies with the laws that came in place due to the novel coronavirus?
