Cubana Chief, Nigerian socialite Priest has called for the release of social media influencer VeryDarkMan, who is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
eelive had earlier reported that activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju confirmed in a post on his official Facebook page on Friday evening that the influencer had been detained by the anti-graft agency.
Reacting in a post on his Instagram page on Monday, Cubana Priest expressed hope for VeryDarkMan’s release.
He wrote, “We just dey fake happiness. @verydarkblackman our man is missing. We are hopeful he regains freedom today or a press release from the people that abducted him.
“Joy no dey. The voice of the voiceless is missing. The hope of the hopeless is nowhere to be found. Peace dey cry. Street dey call. Free VDM now!!!”
Cubana Priest joins the growing list of Nigerians calling for VeryDarkMan’s release.
Singer Davido also condemned the influencer’s arrest in a recent post, describing it as forceful and unjust.
He noted that it was encouraging to see people appreciating VeryDarkMan for his positive impact across the country. Davido also called for his release.
He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Outside all the noise, it’s good to see that the good one does actually impacts lives and people actually appreciate! The support I’m seeing for VDM everywhere is encouraging… makes one want to do more for the masses. FREE MY GUY.”
