Nollywood actress Judy Austin has pushed back against renewed accusations that she began a relationship with actor Yul Edochie while still married to her ex-husband, Emmanuel Obasi.
In a recent Instagram video, Austin insisted her first marriage ended in March 2013, and she met her husband, Yul Edochie, on a movie set in 2016.
“I met him three years after my marriage ended and that is not a crime,” she stated, dismissing claims he contributed to the breakdown.
She pointed to surviving crew members who could corroborate the timeline and warned bloggers against spreading unverified stories.

Austin further alleged Obasi has made contradictory statements over the years and defended Edochie’s supportive role in raising her children, including paying school fees.

The response comes after Obasi’s tearful appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast. Sharing 2007 wedding photos, he claimed Austin would lose focus and openly praise Edochie, saying his voice reminded her of an uncle whenever the actor appeared on television during their marriage.
“She would be telling me to my face that she loves this man,” Obasi said, adding he possesses evidence of an affair “under my roof.” He expressed deep regret over supporting her education and family life.
The conflicting accounts have reignited public debate, with both sides urging accountability. Austin indicated the matters would be addressed in court.
