Kaffy speaks on separation from husband

Nigerian dancer, Kafayat Shafau, popularly known as Kaffy, has opened up on her separation from her husband, Joseph Ameh.

The 41 year old revealed that marriage was supposed to be an alignment of destinies but that was not the case for her. She stated this in a video snippet of her podcast posted on her Instagram page on Monday night. She further stated that divorce or separation was not supposed to be toxic or bitter. Kaffy said, 

“Marriage is supposed to be an alignment of destinies driving towards a place God wants for them. And mine didn’t really work out that way. Rather than looking at somebody as the problem, sometimes you could be the problem of that person.

Being an enabler of someone’s not being able to do what they are supposed to do can also be that you’re not supposed to be in that space.”

 The Guinness world record breaker also revealed that she left her marriage so that she and her ex-husband, Joseph Ameh, could grow.

The dancer, who spoke about her divorce publicly for the first time, noted that she had always wanted the best for her ex-husband despite their separation.

She stated that  she left the marriage so that they could grow individually in what they were supposed to be. The dancer said, “I always wanted to see my ex in the best version of him. And even taking a chance of breaking this marriage was to see that we both grew in what we really supposed to be.”
