Kanye West Postpones Marseille Concert Amid Antisemitism Controversy

US rapper Kanye West, also known as Ye, has postponed his scheduled concert in Marseille, France, following reports that the country’s interior minister is working to block the performance.

In a post on X late Tuesday, the 48-year-old rapper announced: “After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice.”

The move comes after France’s Interior Minister Laurent Nunez moved to prevent the June 11 concert due to West’s repeated antisemitic remarks and his public admiration for Adolf Hitler.

West has faced widespread backlash for his controversial statements. Britain previously barred him from entering the country, leading to the cancellation of a major festival he was set to headline. Dutch authorities, however, have not indicated any plans to block him.

In his X posts, West said he understands it takes time for people to believe his commitment to make amends. “I take full responsibility for what’s mine but I don’t want to put my fans in the middle of it,” he added.

In May 2025, he released the song “Heil Hitler” and advertised a swastika t-shirt, both of which drew heavy criticism. Major platforms banned the track, after which West expressed regret and attributed his actions to bipolar disorder.
