American Rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, has broken his silence on the intense controversy surrounding his booking as headliner for London’s Wireless Festival in July 2026.

The announcement that West would perform all three nights at Finsbury Park triggered widespread backlash due to his history of antisemitic remarks, including praise for Adolf Hitler and the release of a song titled “Heil Hitler” last year.

In a new statement addressed “To Those I’ve Hurt,” released on Tuesday, West responded directly to the outcry. “I’ve been following the conversation around Wireless and want to address it directly,” he wrote. “My only goal is to come to London and present a show of change, bringing unity, peace, and love through my music.”

He added: “I would be grateful for the opportunity to meet with members of the Jewish community in the UK in person, to listen. I know words aren’t enough – I’ll have to show change through my actions. If you’re open, I’m here.”

Major sponsors, including Pepsi and Diageo, withdrew support from the festival, while UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer described the booking as “deeply concerning,” stating that antisemitism must be confronted firmly.

The British government is reportedly reviewing West’s permission to enter the country, and calls for a ban have grown louder from politicians and Jewish groups.

Festival organisers have so far defended the booking, emphasising themes of forgiveness, but pressure continues to mount. West has not performed in the UK since 2015.
