Kenny Blaq gets first comedy special on Netflix

Nigerian comedian, Kenny Blaq is set to release his first ever comedy special on Netflix, titled ‘In My Room’.

The special is the first wholly local content shot in Lagos for a Nigerian comedian by Netflix. The special drops on November 17.

Ahead of the Netflix release, Kenny Blaq’s Unic Made Entertainment in collaboration with Bluepictures Distribution Limited will host a premiere at the Blue Cinemas, Onikan, Lagos on the release date. Netflix licensed the production to stream to audience cutting across different demographics.

Here’s a Netflix synopsis for ‘In My Room’

“In a one-man show, comedian and singer, Kenny Blaq reflects on a year spent indoors amid COVID-19, riffling on airport customs, his love life and more.”

Kenny Blaq also took to his Instagram to make the announcement. He wrote,

“So last year December, I recorded a test shoot for my first ever comedy special attempt, after watching a lot of it on Netflix. And guess what guys? My comedy special IN MY ROOM will be streaming on Netflix Africa, Netflix UK and Netflix Canada on Wednesday 17th of November 2021.”

Kenny Blaq, real name Otolorin Kehinde Peter kicked off his comedy career in 2008. He headlined his first major international event at the Indigo 02 in the UK. The event held on September 30, 2018 and was titled “Kenny Blaq ‘State of Mind“.
