Alabi Yellow is believed to have died in the early hours of Sunday in his home in Ikorodu, Lagos state. Prior to his death, Alabi Yellow had suffered a stroke in March shortly after the death of his wife. The news of his illness was made public by the Chief Executive Officer of Best Of Nollywood, Seun Oloketuyi.

Popular philanthropist, Reverend Esther Ajayi, was said to have donated a sum of N10m to take care of the actor. Alabi Yellow has appeared in several Yoruba movies and also wrote a book titled, ‘A ba Oko Ku’.

Some months ago, Netflix acquired Mokalik which was produced and directed by Kunle Afolayan. The inspiration for the movie came after Afolayan visited a mechanic village seeking repairs for an antique car. His experience after spending a full day at the location coupled with positive feedback from his fans ignited the need to shoot a film based on that.
