Ladipoe tops Apple Music charts with ‘Feeling’

With his hit single “feeling” featuring Buju, Rapper, Ladipo Eso once again dazzles the music industry by topping the Apple Music top 100 list. The song features fast-rising artistes, Buju and was released on May 7 through Mavin Records. Popularly known as Ladipoe, Eso shook the music world by quickly climbing to the top 100 list in less than a week after its release.

This isn’t the first time Ladipoe has accomplished this feat. His single “know you” featuring Simi, released in 2020, also quickly climbed to the top 100 on the Apple Music list.

The release of know you sparked a Tiktok challenge around the world, giving the song all the attention it deserved. Couples used TikTok to create romantic videos that suited the song’s lyrics by acting out a romantic moment.

TikTok has proved to be an indispensable platform for music promotion. It has a high success rate in introducing music from all a part of the world to the rest of the world.

How it works

Back in February, the single “Know You” won a Headies award for collaboration of the year. The Apple Music top 100 Nigerian charts, which is updated daily, lists the most played songs in the country. It is centred on multi-metric consumption in equivalent songs units.

When a user initiates song playback in Apple Music for more than 30 seconds, lays are registered. The average Daily Listeners are the average number of daily unique listeners over the time period chosen. Therefore, when a user buys a song or album from the iTunes Store, the purchase is registered.

Shazams are also registered if a song is recognized by the Shazam app or one of the Shazam-powered partner apps. Insights are a compilation of achievements and all-time bests for songs and albums that highlight significant data changes.

When an Apple Music user watches your music video for more than 30 seconds, these video views are also registered.
