Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, wife of Teddy Don-Momoh, the widower of late gospel singer Kefee, has passed away weeks after welcoming their first child together.
The family confirmed that Don-Momoh in a statement on Monday night confirmed that Lara Kudayisi had died following a brief illness.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh,” the statement reads.
“After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully.”

The family requested privacy and prayers during the mourning period, noting that funeral arrangements would be disclosed at a later date
“During this deeply painful time, we humbly ask for privacy and prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, and for all who mourn this immeasurable loss,” the statement reads.
“Further details regarding the funeral arrangements and other family matters will be communicated in due course.
“We sincerely thank everyone for the love, support, prayers, and understanding extended to the family during this difficult time.”
Lara’s death follows the recent birth of her and Teddy Don-Momoh’s first child, which the couple celebrated just two weeks ago.
Don-Momoh was previously married to renowned gospel artiste Kefee, who died in June 2014 from complications related to a lung illness.
