Lifetime Releases Trailer for Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina Documentary

Lifetime, has released the official trailer for its upcoming documentary about late music icon Whitney Houston and her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown.

The new documentary titled Whitney Houston & Bobbi Kristina: Didn’t We Almost Have It All will be released on February 6, 2021.

It opens up about the tragic deaths of the musical icon and her daughter. Whitney died in 2012 at 48 while Kristina died three years later at 22. The pair died in similar manner, they were found unresponsive in their bathtubs after battling with drug and alcohol for a long time.

The documentary features interviews from close friends, family and co-workers of Whitney and Kristina.

“The fact that she was found in a bathtub with the same fate as her mother doesn’t make any sense,” Kristina’s friend Sarah Beckmann says in the documentary.

“Whitney was an icon. This is the first time I’ve ever spoken about Whitney,” her friend Perri Reid says in the trailer. “We built this perspective of what this pop princess [is],” one person says of Whitney.

“She just wanted to be a mother. She loved her daughter more than anything,” says another friend.

Speaking on its release, the American basic cable channel said:

“The two-hour documentary presents an in-depth look at the parallel lives of renowned singer Whitney Houston and her daughter Bobbi Kristina.

“Both faced similar struggles — living in the shadow of their famous mothers, criticized for their love choices and often used for their fame and fortune…and both turned to drugs and alcohol for relief from the pressures of being in the spotlight, before prematurely leaving the Earth in the same tragic way.

“In an emotional and candid look at the ups and downs of their personal stories, and a celebration of their lives, ‘Whitney Houston & Bobbi Kristina’ offers intimate conversations with the friends and family that were closest to them.”
