Lindsay Lohan gracing the screens again in Netflix rom-com

American actress, Lindsay Lohan is making an acting comeback after with Netflix new rom-com. The 34-year-old actress and singer will play a newly engaged hotel heiress, who loses her memory after a skiing accident.

Netflix made the announcement on Twitter. “Lohan will star in a new romantic comedy about a newly engaged and spoiled hotel heiress who finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter after getting total amnesia in a skiing accident,” Netflix writes.

Netflix is yet to announce any other cast members on the show. Lohan rose to fame as a teenage star. She appeared in the 1998 remake of “The Parent Trap” when she was 12. She played twin sisters who meet at a summer camp and realise their parents had separated them shortly after they were born.

She has since appeared in other teen movies like ‘Mean Girls‘ and ‘Freaky Friday‘. Her career was at an all-time high at the time. She was also one of the most sought actresses in Hollywood, especially in the comedy genre.

However, her career took a nosedive after a documented struggle with substance abuse. Lohan was reportedly in and out of rehab. She last appeared on TV in the 2019 horror movie, Among The Shadows.

Lohan revealed in an interview just before the pandemic that she was ready to get back on the scene. She told this to the CNN’s New Year’s Eve special hosts, Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen.

Lohan expressed that she wanted to get back to America to start featuring in movies again. She also added that she was taking back the life that she worked so hard for, and sharing it with her family and fans.

The new movie by Netflix is however expected to begin filming in November this year. Therefore, it means that the movie will not be available for this fans this Christmas.
