Love Nwantiti: Ckay’s Smash Hit Joins 1 Billion Club on Spotify

Ckay’s 2019 smash hit, ‘Love Nwantiti‘, has become the first Nigerian solo song to secure 1 billion streams on the music platform, Spotify.

It is important to note that Ckay is also the first solo male African artiste to attain this feat.

Reacting to the achievement, the elated singer wrote via his X handle, “First solo Nigerian song to cross 1 billion streams. Grateful to God and the people involved in this historic success! thank you for streaming.”

Wizkid was the first African artist to join the Spotify 1 billion club in 2017 through his collaboration with Drake on One Dance, which holds the Guinness World Record as the first song to hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.

However, Rema is the first African lead artist to have a song surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify, achieving the feat with the remix of his hit Calm Down featuring American superstar Selena Gomez.
