Mama Rainbow marks 80th birthday

Nigerian actress Idowu Philips better known as Mama Rainbow, is marking her 80th birthday.

The actress, taking to her Instagram page, asked God to increase her in success and inspiration so as to lead a better life than ever.

Sharing series of pictures, she wrote “Glory is to God I am plus one today, I pray that the Lord increases me in success and inspiration so I can lead a better life than ever. 

Happy birthday to me. By the special grace of the one who created me, this new age I am will bring joy and prosperity into my life, now and forever. Thank you Lord for sparing my life.”

Mama Rainbow has featured in several Nigerian films, including: Apaadi, Eru, and Aje ni iya mi among others.

In an interview, Mama Rainbow said only foolish people show their wealth on social media.

She said, “It is those who are not wise that are showing their wealth on social media. How can you be showing that you have N 15 m when you don’t even have N5m As for those exposing their bodies , we are still talking to them because I don’t like it. I don’t want them to go astray. God said that we should cover our bodies , so why do you have to expose yourself?

“Lack of role models and masters is another issue. In the past, we had masters who trained people and many up and coming actors were usually under their tutelage, but now, someone with money would just come without enough training. That is one of those things killing the industry.”
