Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has spoken candidly about how marriage and fatherhood have reshaped his approach to intimacy in films, revealing that he now evaluates romantic scenes with far greater care than earlier in his career.
In a reflective statement shared publicly, the actor explained that actions such as kissing on screen no longer feel like routine parts of the job, but creative choices that must serve a clear purpose within a story.

According to Remi, he now questions the necessity of physical expressions of romance in scripts, asking filmmakers what they are truly trying to communicate and whether the same emotional depth can be achieved without such moments.
He recalled growing up watching classic films in which couples convincingly portrayed deep love without ever locking lips, yet still managed to move audiences.

In his words: ” Marriage and fatherhood changed the way I think about intimacy on screen. Before, maybe a k!ss in a scene just felt like part of the job, something exciting or romantic.
“Now I ask a lot more why. If you say we have to k!ss, what exactly are we trying to show? Can we tell this love story without that physical moment and still move people emotionally”.

The actor also emphasised the importance of transparency with his wife whenever a role demands heightened intimacy. He said he would discuss the creative reasoning behind such scenes and listen to her perspective before making a decision.

Remi went further to describe his body as no longer belonging to him alone, stating that it is accountable to God, his calling and the family who trust him to represent them honourably wherever he goes.
