Marvel Studios has revealed that British actor David Jonsson will play Black Panther in the third film of the popular superhero series.
Jonsson was introduced at Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The studio also announced that ‘Black Panther 3’ will be released in theaters on December 15, 2028.
The 33-year-old actor will play Prince T’Challa II, the son of the late King T’Challa and Nakia. The character first appeared as a child in the 2022 film ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’.
The new movie will show the young prince growing up and taking on his role as Wakanda’s next protector.

Ryan Coogler will return as director for the third film. Letitia Wright and Winston Duke will also come back as Shuri and M’Baku.
After Chadwick Boseman passed away in 2020 from colon cancer, Marvel decided not to recast the role of T’Challa.
Instead, in ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ Shuri became the new Black Panther. The film also revealed that T’Challa and Nakia had a son, Prince T’Challa II.
With Jonsson taking on the role, ‘Black Panther 3’ starts a new chapter for the Wakandan superhero story. The next generation will continue the Black Panther legacy.
