May Edochie, Nigerian entrepreneur and social media personality, has refuted claims that she issued an apology to her estranged husband, Nollywood actor Yul Edochie.
Eelive recalls that May filed for divorce in 2023 after Yul publicly introduced actress Judy Austin as his second wife in April 2022. In her legal filing, May cited adultery and demanded ₦100 million in damages.
However, a letter recently circulated online alleging that May had apologised to Yul amidst their ongoing divorce proceedings.
Reacting to the report, May, through a Facebook post shared by her legal representative, Emeka Ugwuonye, dismissed the letter as fake and misleading. She described it as “a desperate attempt to create a narrative when other efforts have failed.”

May made it clear that she had not issued any form of apology, stating, “May did NOT issue any apology. It was Yul who chose polygamy and previously apologized. However, such an apology does not change the legal course currently being pursued.”
She urged the public to ignore the false narrative, reaffirming that she remains committed to the divorce and legal claims tied to the alleged adultery.
Yul recently addressed Ndi Igbo on the selection of traditional rulers, urging them to preserve their cultural heritage.
He emphasised that traditional rulers should be selected through traditional means, not by election or government intervention.
According to Yul, a true traditional ruler must be a core traditionalist, chosen by the deity of the land, and sworn to uphold truth, unity, peace, and shun evil.
Yul expressed concerns about the erosion of traditional values, attributing the rise in crime to the adoption of foreign practices.
