Meghan Markle Returns to Movies With Disney’s ‘Elephant’

The acting career of Sussex royal Meghan Markle is nowhere near over, as she returns with Disney’s Elephant. Notably, this is another of Disney’s adventurous rides.

After more than three years of quitting her acting career for love, The Duchess of Sussex plays the role of a narrator in the Disneynature’s upcoming documentary.

Elephant tells the story of African elephant Shani and her son Jomo as their heard travels hundreds of miles across the Kalahari Desert, Disney said in a press release.

A new trailer dropped by Disneynature on Thursday confirms that the 38-year-old, who married Britain’s Prince Harry in May 2018; will narrate the upcoming documentary due to livestream on Disney+ beginning April 3.

Disney also confirmed Markle‘s role via a teaser video shared on Twitter, captioned: “Two new movies, two unforgettable journeys. Start streaming Disneynature’s Elephant, narrated by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, and Disneynature’s Dolphin Reef, narrated by Natalie Portman, on April 3, only on #DisneyPlus.”

According to People, all proceeds from the documentary will go towards supporting Elephants Without Borders; a non profit organization protecting elephants across Africa. Back in 2017, Prince Harry and Markle visited the NGO in Bostwana.

People also reports that the former “Suits” star recorded her last part last fall in London. This was a few months before she and her husband, Prince Harry announced their retreat as senior members of the British royal family in January. The couple’s decision goes into effect March 31.
