Mildred Okwo’s ‘La Femme Anjola’ Gets Rave Reviews
Nollywood filmmaker Mildred Okwo has been teasing her neo-noir film La Femme Anjola for a while. After five years in the making, the film finally made its debut on Friday, March 19; and boy was it worth the wait! La Femme Anjola has been met with positive reviews.
La Femme Anjola premiered on Sunday, March 14 in a star-studded event. It hit theatres on Friday, and the fan premiere held on Saturday, with lead actors Rita Dominic and Nonso Bassey among other members of the cast and crew in attendance.
Actress Beverly Naya and TV host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu commended La Femme Anjola; calling it “glorious” and “highly recommended”. Nollywood veteran Shaffy Bello called the movie “phenomenal” and filmmaker Kenneth Gyang said he “didn’t have to lie about its brilliance”.
Filmmaker Femi Odugbemi went ahead to call the movie “pure joy” and “the most ambitious crime thriller, living up to every expectation.”
