Afrobeats singer Afolarin Odunlami, better known as Fola, recently shared a photo of his employee ID card from his first job as a teenage factory worker.
The 25-year-old ‘What a Feeling’ singer posted the pink ID card from a manufacturing company in Oyo State on social media. The card showed his name, address, and job title at the time.
He said he got the job in 2016, when he was just 15.
In another post, Fola talked about how much his life has changed over the years and thanked music for making a big difference.
“15-year-old Folarin had no idea that 10 years later, he’d look back at his ID card from his first job in 2016 and realise that music would be the very thing God would use to change his life,” he wrote.
Fola, who has steadily gained traction in the Nigerian music industry, rose to greater prominence after signing with Dangbani Republik, Bella Shmurda’s record label, in October 2024.

His growing discography includes tracks such as ‘Alone,’ ‘Feeling,’ ‘Mandela,’ and the hit collaboration ‘Who Does That’ with Shmurda.
Last year, the artiste opened up about his first day in Lagos in 2018, which ended with him spending a night in a police cell.
He said the experience made him question his life choices at the time, but it ultimately became part of the story that shaped his rise in the music scene.
