Naomi Campbell welcomes first child at 50
British supermodel Naomi Campbell is now a mother as she recently welcomed her first child, a baby girl.
The supermodel announced the birth of her child via Instagram; where she posted a photo of her baby’s feet along with the caption, “A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother. So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you, my angel.”
The 50-year-old icon added, “There is no greater love.”

Congratulatory messages flooded in from everyone; including designer Marc Jacobs, who commented, “Oh my God!!!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around.”
Her mother, Valerie Morris Campbell, said in a post on Instagram alongside the same picture: “Congratulations to my daughter Naomi on the birth of her daughter, I’m beyond thrilled as I’ve waited a longtime to be grandmother.”
Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of British Vogue, said: “Seeing the two of you together made my year. You will bring each other so much joy.”
“Many many many congratulations to you and to your family,” wrote Jodie Turner-Smith, “the village that will now rally around you and support you in cultivating that little angel!!!! what an incredible blessing!!!
In May 2017, Campbell told Evening Standard magazine she has thought about having a child but wasn’t in a rush to make it happen at a specific time. “I think about having children all the time,” she said at the time. “But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want.”
Campbell then told WSJ. Magazine in October 2019, as far as having kids went at that time, “Not yet — I’ll see what the universe brings me.”
