NBC cancels Manifest after three seasons, fans react
It’s a sad day for Manifest fans as NBC has announced they won’t be renewing the missing plane drama for a fourth season.
The showrunner, Jeff Rake expressed his disappointment in the decision from NBC but also added that he was hopeful of finding the show a new home on another network. Here’s what he had to say,
“My dear Manifesters, I’m devastated by NBC’s decision to cancel us. That we’ve been shut down in the middle is a gut punch, to say the least. Hoping to find a new home. You the fans deserve an ending to your story. Thanks for the love shown to me, the cast, and the crew. #savemanifest“
The decision from NBC comes as a shock, as Manifest’s first two seasons recently premiered on Netflix to rave reviews. The show shot to the number one position on the viewership ranks in the U.S.
Rake came up with a six season plan for Manifest when the show was created and would now be hoping another network/platform steps in to pick up.
Fans have flooded social media with posts containing the hashtag #savemanifest targeted at Netflix. The plan is to hopefully secure a new home for the show. Saving the show will not be a first for the streaming giants as they had made a move to secure series like ‘Lucifer’ and ‘Designated Survivors’ after cancellation in the past.

The show focuses on a Montego Air Flight 828, flying from Jamaica to New York City. Following severe turbulence, they finally land safely in New York but the 191 passengers and crew learn that they have been missing for five and a half years and even presumed dead. Nevertheless, they try to reintegrate themselves into present-day society but then a deeper mystery unfolds. They also begin to experience guiding voices and visions of events yet to occur.
