Ne-Yo Confirms Split From Wife

It’s officially over between Ne-Yo and his wife, Crystal Smith.

The 40-year-old R & B singer confirmed on an episode of the Private Talk With Alexis Texas podcast, released on Saturday that he and Smith, are no longer together and will be getting a divorce. 

Ne-Yo’s speaks on his divorce

Speaking on the Private Talk Podcast, Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith said :

“It’s slowly but surely becoming public knowledge that myself and my wife have decided to go ahead and get a divorce.

“It’s not a sad thing, it’s more of a us realizing…long story short, I’m never gonna talk bad about her. I’m not that person,” Ne-Yo said. There’s nothing bad to say about her. She’s a fantastic woman. She’s the mother of my children and she’s always gonna be that and I will always respect her.

“Long story short, she’s got demons just like everybody else, just like me,” he added. “We realise that our demons don’t mesh. Until both of us get a hold of our personal demons, it’s gonna be just difficult for us to stay married. With that being said, that’s that, that’s the end of that chapter, not the end of the book. Like I said, that’s the mother of my kids and I love her to death. We’re going to be family forever.”

Ne-Yo‘s interview comes just after his estranged wife Crystal Smith was spotted on a vacation getting close with “Black Ink Crew: Chicago” star Ryan Henry amid her split from the singer.

Ne-Yo and Smith, who both got married back in 2016, share two kids Shaffer Smith Jr. and Roman Alexander-Raj Smith.

The R&B singer also has two children with his ex-partner, Monyetta Shaw, who had her tubes tied at Ne-Yo‘s request after the singer also agreed to undergo a sterilization procedure.

But the singer never went through with it, instead he broke up with Monyetta Shaw to marry Crystal Smith.

Ne-Yo then had two more children with her. However, Crystal Smith is yet to comment about the breakup.
