Nick Cordero, Broadway Actor, Dies of COVID-19 at 41

Nick Cordero, a Canadian actor better known for his stage roles on Broadway, has died at 41.

The movie star breathed his last after suffering complications from COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus pandemic; for which he had received treatment for 95 days.

Amanda Kloots, his wife, took to her social media page on Sunday night to break the sad news. She wrote:

“God has another angel in heaven now. My darling husband passed away this morning. He was surrounded in love by his family, singing and praying as he gently left this earth.”

She added that the development has left her shattered, describing Cordero as a man of amazing qualities.

“I am in disbelief and hurting everywhere. My heart is broken as I cannot imagine our lives without him. Nick was such a bright light. He was everyone’s friend, loved to listen, help and especially talk.”

She continued: “He was an incredible actor and musician. He loved his family and loved being a father and husband. Elvis and I will miss him in everything we do, everyday.”

Kloots went on to appreciate her husband’s doctor and others who stood with the family amid the challenging period.

The Tony Award-nominated actor specialized in playing tough guys on Broadway in such shows as Waitress, A Bronx Tale and Bullets Over Broadway. He won several awards including the Theatre World Award and Outer Critics Circle Award.

Eelive had reported how the Canadian actor suffered severe lung damage and had his right leg amputated due to COVID-19.
