Nigerian Music Industry Becoming Boring- Omah Lay

Nigerian recording artiste, Stanley Omah Didia, who is better known as Omah Lay, has claimed that the Nigerian music industry is becoming boring.

The ‘Soso’ hitmaker promised to spice up African music soon.

On his Snapchat, Omah Lay wrote, “Una music industry is boring AF! Spirit is coming to f**k up the continent in a bit.”

Omah Lay’s statement is coming several days after another Nigerian singer, Slimcase, expressed concern over the country’s music industry, claiming that Afrobeats artists’ sounds were becoming boring.

The Shaku Shaku crooner urged Afrobeats to release less music to build excitement and anticipation for their releases.

He claimed that the constant release of songs among the Afrobeat stars was “killing” the genre.

He wrote: “Too many songs, too many albums. Una too dey put una self for pressure for this Niger sha. Take a chill pill and be like Rihanna. Do other things and come back give us a fresh vibe.

“Your sounds are getting boring cus dem be coming too much in a year. I owe dem a song this year and that’s it. It’s only God that is new every morning. Everyday every second singles and albums dey kiii Afrobeats gradually, it’s not fun anymore.”
