Nigerian recording artiste, Daniel Benson, who is better known as BNXN, has shared his opinion on the debate on who is richer between musicians and athletes.

The ‘Finesse’ crooner said that, aside from footballers, NBA players are far richer than most musicians.

BNXN explained that he is friends with some NBA players, and from his experience with them, Nigerian artists are not as rich as American basketballers.

Speaking during a recent livestream with streamer Ojo, the singer said, “I am friends with a few NBA players. These guys have so much money. Nigerian artists don’t even have as much money as them.”

He continued, “NBA players are insanely rich. A player of Jaylen Brown’s calibre has so much money. Afrobeats are not close to athletes in terms of earnings.”

Daniel Etiese Benson, known professionally as Bnxn and formerly known as Buju, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer.

In 2022, Buju officially changed his name to BNXN to avoid confusion with Buju Banton and having more unique branding. A few months later, in March 2022, he collaborated with Pheelz on the single “Finesse”; the song peaked at number 52 on the UK Official Singles Chart. In July 2022, he featured on the Jae5 song “Propeller” alongside British rapper Dave. The song became Bnxn’s first Top 40 single in the United Kingdom, entering the chart at number 38.
