Niniola Bags Grammy Certificate for Work on Beyonce’s Album

Niniola Apata, Nigerian Afro-house vocalist, has bagged a Grammy certificate for her participation as a composer in Beyonce‘s Lion King: The Gift album.

The American Recording Academy recognized Niniola for working as one of the composers of the track Find Your Way Back which contains elements of her hit single Maradona.

In 2019, Beyonce teamed up with some Nigerian artistes including Mr. Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Shatta Wale, and Wizkid among other musicians for the project.

On Thursday, Niniola took to her Twitter to share a certificate mailed to her by the Recording Academy, US’ learned body of music professionals renowned for its annual Grammy Awards.

“And the GRAMMY Certificate @recordingacademy just came in the mail today. Thank you, God. And thank you to everyone that has been supporting. Love you all,” she wrote in a tweet.

The singer, who doubles as elder sister to Teniola, another vocalist, has graced many stages since releasing her debut single.

On March 19, 2014, Niniola dropped her debut music, Ibadi after reaching out to ace music producer Sarz for production. The song enjoyed positive reviews, listed on different music charts in Nigeria until it eventually made its way to other parts of Africa.

Niniola has since been growing, getting more fans across the world and releasing multiple hit songs. She had once caused a buzz beyond the shores of Africa after Maradona, the hit song of hers; was requested on the radio by Drake, Canadian rapper and record producer.
