Nipsey Hussle Murder Suspect Arrested, Memorial Ends in Chaos

According to reports from CBS Los Angeles, Police have arrested man suspect to have murdered American rapper, Nipsey Hussle. The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Eric Holder.  A reporter for ABC Los Angeles also posted a video of suspect, Eric Holder, being arrested.

Additionally, TMZ reports that the unidentified woman who allegedly acted as the getaway driver for Holder, also turned herself into authorities.

Following news of the suspect’s arrest, the LAPD headquarters Twitter account confirmed that Holder had been arrested and was in custody. “Eric Holder, the suspected killer of Nipsey Hussle, has been arrested and is in police custody. Thank you to both our community for the heightened awareness/vigilance, and our partners at @LASDHQ,” tweeted the account.

The 29-year-old Holder was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon (April 2), which is just about two days after Nipsey was shot and killed in front of his clothing store, The Marathon, on Sunday (March 31). He was reportedly captured in the L.A. suburb of Bellflower sometime before 1:30 p.m. PST.

Early Tuesday at a press conference, LAPD Chief Michel R. Moore had explained what the LAPD believes to be the root of the Nipsey killing.

“At this point of our investigation based on witness statements and the background of those that we’ve identified, we believe this to be a dispute between Mr. Hussle and Mr. Holder,” Moore said at the conference. “I’m not going to go over the conversation, but it appears to be a personal matter between the two.”

Meanwhile, a massive crowd gathered on the streets of South Los Angeles to pay tribute to Nipsey Hussle. The memorial however ended abruptly when multiple people were trampled and police — armed with riot gear and batons — began forming containment lines.

Police spokeswoman, Meghan Aguilar, in a press briefing said “There was sudden mass panic and chaos in the area, with about 300 people running from the location at once. It is unclear what, if anything, caused the stampede which left one police officer and 19 other people injured, most with trample injuries.
